The year 2021 was filled with helping hands and blessings made possible by the staff at C.H. Hanson. The Hanson Helps Team was created in September 2019 to provide assistance to employees, immediate family, and the community. The team is a group of 5 employees who represent the different departments within the company. The mission of the team is to build great community in the workplace, our homes, and the community; At our core, we seek to help those that we work alongside, our customers and suppliers and those in our community.
Here is what we accomplished in 2021:
Warm Feet for Warriors: We collected 310 pairs of socks for service members and veterans to keep their feet warm when they’re out of uniform. Socks are one of the most requested clothing items for service members.
Bunk Bed Build Out: We built 20 bunk beds for those in need of a bed. These beds were distributed to low-income households. No child should ever have to sleep on a floor.
Pet Drive: In June, we donated 275 pounds of food, 29 bags/boxes of treats and 41 toys/bowls/leashes to Rescued Rascals. This program saves unwanted, abandoned, abused, and neglected dogs by placing them into loving forever homes.
Healthy Challenge 5k: 61 employees participated in this healthy lifestyle program which trained them to run or walk a 5k. 59% of our team took on this challenge! This program was a huge success and helped many of our employees develop diet and exercise discipline.
Treat for Troops: We ended up collecting 3,480 pounds of candy for deployed service members and veterans. We love to assist our service members with a bit of sweets during the Halloween season.
Angel Tree: We sponsored 35 children, providing them with Christmas gifts so they could experience the pure joy of Christmas morning. These youngsters have a parent who is currently incarcerated. We work with a prison ministry during the holidays to make the best of a difficult situation.
We were hard at work this past year and we look forward to providing more blessings in 2022. Stay tuned!
